The Defense Department has finalized the details for an information technology workforce exchange program with the private sector, Nextgov reports.
Assignments under the Information Technology Exchange Pilot Program will span from three months to one year.
To qualify for the ITEP pilot, applicants must maintain employment within the IT field and have reached GS-11 level or over.
Currently, the program has one successful private sector delegate that completed a 6-month stay with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense.
Two succeeding private sector delegates have been identified for their ITEP assignments.
The Pentagon also announced nine new ITEP openings for private sector applicants in service oriented architecture, cybersecurity, IT project management, IT infrastructure consolidation, social media and mobility and wireless.
